This showcased event has concluded.
Rail Futures presenters will explain how the Rail Futures Melbourne Rail Plan can totally transform the way in which Melbourne travels - from the existing over dependence on cars to a new era low emission Grid Network of easily accessible and connected public transport services, operating to "turn up and go" frequencies, thus providing attractive alternatives for many journeys presently reliant on the car.
The Forum will set out a comprehensive 30-year plan for new multi-modal public transport options - integrating heavy rail, light rail, medium capacity transit, tram, bus and active transport (walking and cycling) into a fully connected network. The presentation will show how Melbourne can develop its future public transport system to support an environmentally sustainable city. The presentation will be followed by adequate time for discussion and questions.
