China Matters' 2022 in-person Sydney Lecture Series: Rethinking China features speakers of diverse expertise and background with the aim to inject breadth and depth into the public discussion about the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Yun Jiang, the inaugural AIIA China Matters Fellow, will describe how she sees China, why she sees China the way she does, and on that basis share her thoughts on what Australia's approach to the PRC should be. In conversation with Yun will be Stan Grant, author, journalist and co-host of the ABC's China Tonight program.

Drinks and canapés will follow the lecture.

China Matters thanks PwC for their generous support of this event.

About the speakers:

Yun Jiang was the co-founder and former editor of the newsletter China Neican, and a managing editor of the China Story blog. She is a former researcher in geoeconomics at the Australian National University and a former policy adviser in the Australian Government, having worked in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Treasury and the Department of Defence.

Stan Grant is the Vice Chancellor's Chair of Australian-Indigenous Belonging at Charles Sturt University and is the ABC's international affairs analyst. He is one of Australia's most respected and awarded journalists, with more than 30 years experience in radio and television news and current affairs.
