A glitter-doused provocateur and powerhouse cabaret queen
Long-lashed, full-lipped, and ready to canoodle with audiences close up, the Grammy® Award-winning glamour-puss chanteuse Rizo returns with a show capturing the prisms of life. Enter her portal of lust, heartbreak and life's beautiful sorrows via a seductive cabaret showcase melding vintage pop, rock'n'roll spunk and ridiculous hi-jinks.
Raised by a troupe of Oregon theatre hippies, trained as a classical actress and once a teenage punk rocker, Rizo (Amelia Zirin-Brown) is a festival cult favourite returning after a sold-out season in Sydney Festival 2018. She's a glitter-doused provocateur with powerhouse vocals and songs that bring people together. Drawing inspiration from Edith Piaf, Dolly Parton and Nina Simone, laced with Freddie Mercury, Rizo has collaborated with Moby, Reggie Watts and Yo-Yo Ma, the latter on Grammy® Award-winning album Joy & Peace. Now it's your turn to join her for a night of cabaret perfection.
'Sensational... Rizo makes connections between performer and audiences that are impossible in any other context.' - The New York Times
