The Brightspace offers art workshops for children on weekends, during school holidays and for fun, inspirational birthday parties.
Variety of creative workshops these January school holidays for children aged 5-13.
Monday 15th January
'I AM' AFFIRMATION PAINTING
What better way to start 2024 with an awesome affirmation mixed media artwork? We will be exploring paint mixing, composition and text to create a unique affirmation canvas.
Tuesday 16th January
3D WIRE SCULPTURE 'MOVING BODIES'
Inspired by street artist Keith Haring, we will be exploring human movement and replicating the energy of the moving body through wire sculpture. By thinking in both in 2D and 3D, we will experiment with both line and space. Using safe tools, young artists will bend, twist and fasten malleable art wire to create their 3D figures.
Monday 22nd January
STENCIL ART WALL MURAL
Transform a blank canvas into an urban art masterpiece inspired by street artist Banksy. We will be creating a large mural with a message, by using a variety of techniques including painting, stencilling and graffiti art. We will explore spacial awareness, composition and scaling as we create our wall mural over 1 m long.
Tuesday 23rd January
ABSTRACT 'EMOTIONS' PAINTING
Using acrylic paints, young artists will paint a vibrant, personalised abstract canvases. They'll learn to arrange lines, shapes, colours, and textures in a well organised composition to create unity and order. Each distinct section of their canvas will serve as a unique representation of an emotion they have personally experienced.
