Lunar New Year celebration with Rainbow Chan
Join vocalist, producer and multi-disciplinary artist Rainbow Chan for an idols-themed Lunar New Year celebration. Revelling in the nostalgia of Canto- and Mando-pop divas, late night karaoke and Chinese wedding banquets, this evening is not to be missed.
Rainbow will perform originals from her new record Stanley, as well as covers of classic songs by Teresa Teng, Anita Mui and Faye Wong. Audiences are encouraged to come dressed to impress, inspired by the theme of 'idols'. Canapes will be served on arrival.
This ticketed event includes after-hours viewing of The Way We Eat, in the Lower Asian Gallery, at the start of the night and during intermission. Combining historical treasures with dramatic contemporary artworks, The Way We Eat brings together works of art related to food - that ancient source of inspiration, pleasure and anxiety.
Tickets on sale 7 January.
Supported by the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations.
