Riffing on the glossy, wealth-obsessed pursuits of Sydney zoomers, this noise-core trio has taken its home town and put it through a blender of hip hop, thrash punk and metal - a fittingly abrasive tribute to the city that shaped them, for better or worse.
Both ecstasy and emptiness are felt through sonic and visual homages to EDM and influencerdom in the harbour city. As the blur between the group's online and offline worlds intensifies, so too does their relationship to these accelerated cultures. The band's forthcoming EP CLUBSMOKE is a meditation on vlogging, gymming, clubbing and clout - a twisted, ambivalent tribute to the gym junkies, vape heads and beautiful people. As entranced as it is disconnected, CLUBSMOKE remains inseparable from these hyper-stimulating worlds.
Coupled with a raucous live show, the trio carves a compelling niche, savagely reflecting back our city's imperfect id. Don't miss it.
