Strength and fragility - the dichotomy that permeates life. They are the foundations upon which we interpret our world.

The works in this exhibition tease out the meaning of the push and pull of strength and fragility, of resilience and vulnerability. Individual interpretations are expressed through various genres - landscape, the human form, objects and in styles from realism to abstraction. The artists ask us to examine our traditional understanding of what constitutes strength and fragility against the background of a challenging and changing world.

Strength & Fragility is an exhibition by the students of Tim Allen, reflecting on the world around us at time in transition.

Join the artists on Opening Night at the Ewart Gallery, from 6pm to 8pm on 12 October.

Otherwise, please come see this array of work by our students.

Images by Charlotte Whitby, Sylvia Prescott and Lizzie Simunovic (respectively).
