Australian design is celebrated but the design process often remains hidden. We see a final piece with little knowledge of the effort and expertise of those who contributed to its creation.

External Review is an exhibition by Australian designer Tom Fereday which follows and celebrates the entire design process from raw material source to manufacture and final presentation with the purpose of shared learning. It traces the creation of Fereday's latest design in American red oak.

The aim is to encourage dialogue on how we may foster a sense of thoughtful, intentional and environmentally responsible design whilst championing Australian craft expertise.

Presented by the Australian Design Centre in collaboration with Evostyle, Swiss Design and the American Hardwood Export Council.

Launch event 6 - 8 pm Wednesday 21 September
