The Sydney Marathon, presented by ASICS is Australia's largest marathon, and is attempting to become the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major by 2025, joining the six largest marathons in the world - Tokyo, Boston, TCS London, BMW-Berlin, Bank of America Chicago, and TCS New York City Marathons.
The Sydney Marathon is about providing an unforgettable event to over 40,000 runners, and to celebrate the incredible physical achievements from all runners, of all abilities and backgrounds, as they make their way across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, through the streets of the CBD and the eastern suburbs, around Centennial Park and finishing in the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House.
The iconic race is now quickly becoming an established global event, with over 80 countries set to take part in 2024. We look forward to welcoming another 40,000+ runners to take to the streets of Sydney on Sunday, 15th September 2024, and for Sydney to take our final step to becoming the next Abbott World Marathon Major.
