Side by Side features five world premieres of new works by emerging composers from within the ensemble and Karlin Love - the winner of Taikoz's 2020 Composer Competition.
In Side by Side the full expressivity of Taikoz is on show: the breathless chase of Kerryn Joyce's Run!, Sophia Ang's spectral taiko-set solo Shadow Games, Ryuji Hamada's joyous Yasaka, Claudia Wherry's gamelan inspired Cocoon, Ian Cleworth's awe-inspiring Awakening for odaiko trio, and Karlin Love's dramatic Fierce: The Vengeance Of Joy.
