The Blake Prize is one of Australia's longest-standing and most prestigious prizes. This is a call to all artists to submit their work for consideration before close of entries at midnight on Monday 12 October 2020. see here to submit your artwork. Three prizes will be selected by the judges for the best contemporary artwork that addresses the religious or spiritual. All artworks entered must have a recognisable exploration of faith, spirituality, religion, hope, humanity, social justice, belief, and/or non-belief. Entries are not restricted to works related to any faith or artistic style.
All prizes are strictly non-sectarian. Three prizes are selected by the judges for the best contemporary art work that addresses the religious or spiritual. The non-acquisitive Main Prize is $35,000; the Emerging Artist Prize is an acquisitive prize of $6000 and the Established Artist Residency consists of a residency and solo exhibition hosted by CPAC (Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre). register your artwork and pay your entry fee . It's $50 per entry with a maximum of 2 entries.
The judges for the event are Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, Maude Page, and Kumi Taguchi. Sri-Lankan born artist Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran is a contemporary artist who experiments with figurative sculptural and painting practices to explore the politics of sex, the monument, gender, and religion.
Maud Page is the Director Of Collections, and Deputy Director at the Art Gallery of NSW and joined them in 2017. Previously she has been deputy director, collection and exhibitions at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), Brisbane and played a key leadership role in formulating the museum's strategic direction and more.
Kumi Taguchi is a presenter for ABCTV, including the host of Compass, and is a regular host of major live events, including the Australian of the Year Awards. In 2018, Kumi was the MC at the opening and closing ceremonies of The Invictus Games in Sydney, broadcasting to a global audience of 60 million
