Speaker: Emeritus Professor Konrad Kwiet

In this lecture, Emeritus Professor Konrad Kwiet will discuss the significance and impact of the Eichmann Trial and how it influenced people like Sidney Nolan watching the trial on television.

During the Holocaust, high-ranking Nazi German official Adolf Eichmann played a central role in the implementation of the 'Final Solution'. In 1961, the world watched the fully televised trial of Eichmann in Jerusalem. For many viewers, this was the first time they had heard of the terrors of the Holocaust through the eyes of survivors.
