Sex is the site of many of our most ethically important experiences - connection, love, communication.
But it's also the site of the worst ethical trespasses - violence, coercion, violation, manipulation.
Is there something special about sex that makes it so ethically fraught? Or is it just where we vividly see the worst and best of people?
How can we bring a greater ethical understanding to what it means to have 'good sex' and 'bad sex'? Can sexual desire be rational? How should we understand consent in sex - and what kinds of badness might we miss when we look just through that lens?
Join us to talk about sex matters and why sex matters.
This event is part of 'The Ethics of' trilogy which includes 'The Ethics of Death' and 'The Ethics of Loneliness'.
Catch all three events for $30 live stream or $90 in person.
About 'The Ethics Of...'
'The Ethics Of…' is an intimate event series where we freely examine the experiences, hopes and challenges that make us truly human; from the good to the bad and everything in between. In this trilogy, the meaning, mess and morality of sex, death and loneliness are put under the microscope. Join The Ethics Centre for a set of important conversations about the ways we connect with each other.
