Drawing & Imagination - Tree Bark Frottage workshop with Liz Perfect

Saturday 29 May 2pm-5pm

Come and enjoy a sensory experience of the trees using touch and vision. Frottage was a technique used by surrealist Max Ernst to create his imagined landscapes - here it will be used to get closer to the life in trees.

You will be taking rubbings from fabulous selected trees on Observatory Hill, then embellishing these by drawing or painting on the frottage to develop imaginative landscapes, making collages with the different patterns you have created, using sgraffito (or scratching back) to make drawings that show layers of life. You will create a series of original artworks inspired by trees.
