The inaugural United Cup brings together the best ATP Tour and Hologic WTA Tour players in an 18-country teams' event played over 11 days across three Australian cities: Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.
From 6-8 January the winners of each city will come to Sydney to compete in the United Cup finals. The tournament, which will carry US$15 million prizemoney and ranking points, will run Thursday 29 December 2022 to Sunday 8 January 2023, with a travel day built in on 5 January.
Six countries qualify based on the Pepperstone ATP Ranking of their No. 1 player; six countries qualify based on the WTA Ranking of their No. 1 singles player; and six countries qualify based on the best combined ranking of their No. 1 ATP and WTA players. As host nation, Australia will receive one of the spots reserved for teams with the best combined ranking if it does not qualify outright.
There will be six groups of three countries total, with two groups per city. Host City Finals will be held in each city, with the three winners advancing to the semi-finals along with a losing host city finalist with the best record from its three matches. Sydney will host Australia, Germany, Spain, Great Britain, Czech Republic and the USA.
We will welcome some of the worlds best players to Ken Rosewall Arena in Sydney Olympic Park including Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios, Ajla Tomlanovic, Paula Badossa, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and many more!
