In this workshop, Henrietta Baird will be sharing the traditional weaving technique to make a basket. You'll be using some natural materials such as Lomandra which is locally sourced.

The workshop will be held over 2 days on consecutive weekends (24 and 31 July at 9am for 3hrs). You will need to attend both of the days. Booking will guarantee attendances for both dates. All materials will be provided and you will go home with your basket after the second session.

Henrietta Baird is a Kuku Yalanji/Yidinji woman from Far North Queensland, and a Sydney based multi-disciplinary artist. Henrietta currently facilitates indigenous art workshops with Koori Kinnections.

Suitable for: 20 years and over

What you will receive:

  • Demonstration from an experienced weaver and educator

  • Hands on experience in weaving

  • A woven basket that you handcrafted after the second session
