The COVID-19 pandemic has been sweeping the world for a year, and we are now beginning to recognise the longer term impacts. Increasingly, it is becoming evident that women are disproportionately bearing the brunt of social and economic impacts due to COVID-19. But there are inspiring women who are not only leaders the their fields in the COVID-19 response, but are addressing some of the inequalities experienced by women in their communities.
This International Women's Day, the Kirby Institute is proud to present a webinar featuring three female leaders who have made enormous contributions to communities across Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
Professor Raina MacIntyre | Program Head, Biosecurity Program, Kirby Institute
Professor Jackie Leach Scully | Director, Disability Innovation Institute, UNSW
Jules Kim | Chief Executive Officer, Scarlet Alliance, Australian Sex Workers Association
Panel facilitated by: Liz Duck-Chong | Transgender advocate
Chaired by: Bridget Haire | UNSW LGBTIQ+ Champion
Webinar link will be sent after registration.
