Spend a unique and memorable Saturday afternoon in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney unravelling the mysteries of perfume while exploring the most fragrant plants found in the Garden.Join perfume consultant Catherine du Peloux Menage- who will discuss the sense of smell- the science of scent- the history of perfume- and the creation of some of the most famous perfumes ever produced. Catherine has developed a practice as a scent stylist- speaker- and writer on perfume and the sense of smell- speaking on everything from the history of perfume to historical scents and stinks in the works of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.The talk will be complemented by a walk through the Garden with our expert guides exploring the natural scents of the Garden- learning how plants use scents to attract pollinators and examining famous scents in the Garden including peppermint- lemon myrtle- lavender- patchouli- and more.This is the second annual Perfume Walk following last year's sold-out event. Waiting in the Wings' is an expressive display of works focusing on the texture and shape of the tutu- whilst emanating the natural dance of tree branches. Dianne's mixed media artworks are brimming with energy and colour- both quirky and upbeat.  See website for two casual workshop offerings on 22 and 29 October. Gallery NTK conducts art classes for adults with an emphasis on various techniques in painting and drawing. We are a multi award winning and the longest running Art School in the Inner West.All classes will run for a 10-week term and are facilitated by acclaimed professional artist and highly qualified visual arts teacher Norma Tahhan who holds a Master's in Fine Arts and Master's in Art Education.Students are encouraged to further develop their artistic and creative skills in various painting and drawing media and develop their creativity through expert tuition. Celebrate Halloween with a double feature of Alien and Aliens!Alien During its return to the earth- commercial spaceship Nostromo intercepts a distress signal from a distant planet. When a three-member team of the crew discovers a chamber containing thousands of eggs on the planet- a creature inside one of the eggs attacks an explorer. The entire crew is unaware of the impending nightmare set to descend upon them when the alien parasite planted inside its unfortunate host is birthed.Aliens When Ripley's lifepod is found by a salvage crew over 50 years later- she finds that terra-formers are on the very planet they found the alien species. When the company sends a family of colonists out to investigate her story-all contact is lost with the planet and colonists. This class is great for people new to improv or improvisers and actors who want to break habits and get back to simple- basic fun.The ITS curriculum is progressive. Level one focuses on simple creativity and group mind- level two works on creating scenes through strong character choices and relationships- level three takes your scenework and combines it with stagecraft techniques (and is the first level to have a grad show performance)- level four elevates your two person scenes and culminates in the longform format La Ronde- level five is a complete performance in the ITS iteration of The Harold- level six uses all previous levels- works on different longform styles- and explores formats and ways of playing.Improv Theatre Sydney is a registered COVID Safe business. Award-winning artist Emma Pask has established herself as one of Australia's favourite jazz vocalists. Showcasing expert versatility- Emma can swing through jazz standards- ride Latin rhythms or pour her heart into tender ballads. Discovered at just 16- Emma's long and decorated career has seen her perform at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London- the Sydney Opera House and support 70's disco and funk legend George Benson. A fun exploration in using wax to create wearable and none wearable objects.Such techniques as dipping- molding- carving and even alternatives to create and assemble prior to casting in potentially both precious and non-precious metals.This class can also be classed as a projects class and is open to all skill levels.‍Covid-safe measuresDue to social distancing regulations we are limited to allow 4 persons max in each of our classes. Priority will be given to students already enrolled in prior to lock-downs and class allocation will then be first in- best dressed basis. Schedules and classes have changed slightly. So please take the time to look through the class options and schedules below. Please email with 2 options if there more than one day to choose from.‍It's important that all students wear COVID Safe face masks during classes when possible and have their own workshop apron. We ask that you remain home if you are unwell or- if in the last 14 days- you have experienced cold or flu symptoms- have returned from overseas or have been to or had contact with someone from a COVID hotspot.

Our artist-educator will guide your family through the exhibition Lindy Lee: Moon in a Dew Drop- stopping at a few key artworks to have a closer look and partake in some creative learning strategies that the whole family will enjoy.To follow Covid-19 safety guidelines- each tour is limited to two families with a maximum of 5 people per family.
