This 60 minute workout is an opportunity for both males and females to get involved in basketball!Train with a real coach as we take you on a basketball journey designed for those who are already playing.We will help you better develop your skills- improve your conditioning and flexibility- and support you to become the player that you've always dreamed to be.To ensure we are covering the key fundamental areas of our sport- we have developed a 12 theme program which you can in join at any time.Week 1. HP stations-workout all areas Week 2. Footwork Week 3. Ball-handling Week 4. Passing and cutting Week 5. HP Stations-workout all areas Week 6. Shooting Week 7. Defense Week 8. Spacing and getting open Week 9. Coach's choice! Week 10. Early transition Week 11. Moving without the ball Week 12. Attacking and individual offense* You can join in at any time- you do not need to wait to start on week 1. We are teaching a theme each week so that all classes align to a common outcome. Obviously the more you come the more you will put the different pieces of the puzzle together.Sign up is free!On the day: Meet inside King George V Recreation Centre on the basketball courts- 10 minutes before the class starts. Here we will check you in and you can pay for your class (cash or card).What to wear: Comfortable training gear and sport shoes. Matching outfits are highly recommended and prizes are known to be awarded for this.What to bring: A bottle of water. There's also fantastic showering facilities and change rooms for you to use free of charge at the venue so bring a towel. And no need to bring your own basketball- we have plenty to go around.

Walking Basketball is a low-impact- social and fun way to improve the levels of physical activity for inactive and slightly active people- including those recovering from injury.The program provides optimal health benefits to all who participate- including those who might be intimidated by the pace and impact of a traditional basketball game but love the slower- more social version of Walking Basketball. Session are 60 minutes and will involve a warm up- skill based drills and 'game play'. All sessions are designed to be adaptable on the participant's skill level- fitness and mobility.For more information about the centre- please visit our website. Please note center is cashless- card payments only.Please note that no injury insurance will be provided. Participants play at their own risk.
