Made famous by Fred Astaire- Ginger Rogers- Mr Bojangles and movie musicals from the 20th century.Tap shoes can be purchased online at Dance Essentials Co.This class is curated for small spaces. All you need is a chair and some clear floor space.

This course is suitable for students who have completed a beginners class or have some prior knowledge of jewellery making.The course is set at your own pace- allowing you to work on your own designs and projects under the supervision of a tutor. Advanced techniques may be demonstrated- which could include metal inlay and granulation.Felix Gill is a graduate from Enmore Design Centre and from The Sydney College of Arts- where he studied jewellery and objects. An exhibiting contemporary jewellery practitioner- Felix will guide you through your projects- assisting with technics to achieve your outcomes.Covid-safe measuresDue to social distancing regulations we are limited to allow 4 persons max in each of our classes. Priority will be given to students already enrolled in prior to lock-downs and class allocation will then be first in- best dressed basis. Schedules and classes have changed slightly. So please take the time to look through the class options and schedules below. Please email with 2 options if there more than one day to choose from.It's important that all students wear COVID Safe face masks during classes when possible and have their own workshop apron. We ask that you remain home if you are unwell or- if in the last 14 days- you have experienced cold or flu symptoms- have returned from overseas or have been to or had contact with someone from a COVID hotspot.

A one day introductory course where you will experience the use of a range of jewellery tools and techniques to make a simple but beautiful sterling silver ring.Our taster classes are perfect for absolute beginners with no previous experience. There are no formal entry requirements for this course. You do not need to be artistic or creative - you'll be surprised what you can create under the guidance of our expert tutors.The workshop begins with short- structured technical exercises and lots of material play in the morning. Then fabricating- decorating and joining will be demonstrated. You will be guided through the following techniques in this one day workshop: Saw piercing - Become proficient in setting up and using the jeweller's piercing saw to cut metal to size. Annealing- Soldering - You will gain an understanding in how to gently heat your metal to soften it- allowing you to then decorate and shape your metal. You will learn how to measure a ring size- form- shape and use a hand held oxy-gas torch to solder your silver ring. Texturing - You can add texture to your ring through a variety of different tools. Finishing - You will acquire knowledge of how to file and polish your finished design and introduce colour to your work using patination techniques.All materials are included. Including sterling silver to make your ring- copper sheet- brass sheet and consumables (saw blades- emery paper- patina).
