Chiswick In Bloom 2020

Join us at 'Chiswick In Bloom' this spring - two months of activity that sees our restaurant and garden come to life to celebrate spring- and the launch of a dedicated Chiswick bar area with its own special menu. Showcasing our home-grown seasonal produce- revel in the flavours of our spring menus across both our a la carte menu as well as a special menu available exclusively through the communal bar. In the restaurant- feast on classics such as Chiswick's slow roasted lamb shoulder- and new menu highlights including globe artichokes with asparagus- garden herbs and pecorino- alongside a half roast chicken with sunrise potato and snow peas.For those who are after a lighter night out- we have also introduced a spring snack menu in the bar. In partnership with Bombay Sapphire- we have created a cocktail and snack In Bloom menu. Highlights include the Bombay Sapphire Garden G&T paired with Chiswick crudites and white bean hummus- the Tangerine Spritz paired with Berkshire pork terrine- mustard and preserved vegetables- the Spring Collins paired with nasturtium leaves- house made ricotta and sunflower- and the Bombay Bramble Spritz paired with prawn popcorn- jalapeno and iceberg lettuce. These pairings will be available exclusively through the Chiswick communal bar from Wednesday 2nd - Saturday 31st October.Plus- you're invited to a range of masterclasses in collaboration with Bombay Sapphire. During each masterclass- guests will enjoy a cocktail from our 'In Bloom' menu- alongside a selection of Chiswick snacks and take home gifts. Classes include:19 September: Gardening masterclass with Chiswick horticulturalist Peter Hatfield in the beautiful Chiswick garden- teaching the art of composting and the importance of bees in pollination and maintaining biodiversity.8 October: Bombay Sapphire's mixologist Loy Catada will host a cocktail class using a selection of tonics and in-season herbs to help guests perfect their ultimate spring G&T recipe.22 October: Matt Moran will host a cooking masterclass with Chiswick head chef Francois Poulard- demonstrating menu favourites- with guests leaving with a take-home produce bag to recreate the Chiswick experience at home.For more information and our Covid-safe guidelines- please visit our website

Forensic Architecture- Cloud Studies 2020

Cloud Studies is the first solo exhibition in Australia by Forensic Architecture- a research agency comprised of architects- artists- filmmakers- journalists- scientists- lawyers and other specialists who undertake investigations into human rights abuses- state violence and environmental crimes around the world.Using the disciplinary tools of both architecture and forensics- Forensic Architecture have given rise to a new form of investigative practice that seeks to uncover- analyse and present evidence from the crimes of our recent past and consider the convergence of architecture- media- and violence.In Cloud Studies- Forensic Architecture contend with the interconnectedness of global atmospheres. The work brings together eight recent investigations under a single theme- toxic clouds. In a year of bushfire- pandemic and protest- where toxic clouds colonise the air we breathe and shape the way we connect- Cloud Studies presents evidence of perseverance and resistance.The exhibition is extended by related investigations and a publication- Responses to the Cloud- that explores the themes of Cloud Studies from a local context- with new writing by Joel Spring- Saba Bebawi- Jason De Santolo- Tom Melick- Nikki Lam- Thalia Anthony- Micaela Sahhar and curators Stella Rosa McDonald and Eleanor Zeichner. As part of our commitment to accessibility- audio recordings of these texts read by their authors are available below. Nick Mount: This Spring and Ninuku Arts: New Work in Glass 2020

Sabbia Gallery is pleased to present two beautiful new exhibitions of glass- part of Sydney Craft Week.Nick Mount: This Spring is a solo exhibition by one of Australia's foremost and internationally-acclaimed contemporary glass artists. Working in this medium since the mid-1970s it is always a pleasure to experience Nick's beautifully blown- cold-worked and assembled artworks.Ninuku Arts: New Work in Glass is a new venture for a group of Indigenous artists located in the furthest communities in the APY Lands of South Australia. Founded in 2006- the group have become known for their powerful colour palettes as well as the diversity of styles- techniques and mediums. This exhibition presents their move into translating their stories in glass.Join the exhibition opening Saturday 10 October- 11am - 4pmCraft Up Late- Tuesday 13 October- 5 - 8pmThis is a COVID-safe event as part of Sydney Craft Week 2020.
