A volunteering opportunity with a difference. 2020
The Ankali Project provide training for volunteers interested in supporting socially isolated people.Once training is complete- as a volunteer- you'll be matched with a socially isolated client- living with HIV.As a volunteer- you'll provide community access- and social and emotional support as a friend. This could include going to cafes- the movies- art galleries- dinners - you name it!You'll be supported with establishing healthy client boundaries as the relationship progresses.As a volunteer- you'll attend a fortnightly support group to debrief and receive support from other volunteers.The Ankali Project Social Work staff is also there to support you- every step of the way.Since 1985- The Ankali Project has trained more than 2000 volunteers. You'll join volunteers from all walks of life- but have the time and commitment to make a difference in the life of someone else.If you have any questions about the service model- or the commitment- please make contact.We're a NSW Health-funded service- as a division of the larger clinical- multi-disciplinary Albion Centre.

Family tours at the Museum of Contemporary Art 2020
Be ready to laugh- shimmy and play! Bring the entire family along and participate in this inclusive and collaborative experience. Our artist-educator will guide your family through the exhibition Lindy Lee: Moon in a Dew Drop- stopping at a few key artworks to have a closer look and partake in some creative learning strategies that the whole family will enjoy.To follow Covid-19 safety guidelines- each tour is limited to two families with a maximum of 5 people per family. An improv comedy show inspired by the news.Improv Theatre Sydney and a couple of guests who are smarter than we are- break down news and current events of the day for you. They then re-spin it into comedy improv sketches and silliness. Hot tip: there will probably be something on COVID (and hopefully there'll be other news too!)Venue doors open a minimum of 30 minutes prior to show start time. Pop in before the show for a drink and a physically distanced mingle!Giant Dwarf is a licensed venue. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission to any person. Any discriminatory- illegal or aggressive behaviour- will not be permitted.Giant Dwarf Covid-Safe Measures: Please do not attend if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms- have travelled overseas within the last 14 days or have been in direct or indirect contact with a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19.Patrons are required to provide their name and contact details upon arrival as well as have their temperature taken with a remote thermometer. If your temperature reads above 38 C you will not be permitted entry for the safety of all patrons.Card-Contactless payment only - We are no longer taking cash sales.Shows will be seated and limited to 30 per sitting- allowing for physical distancing.Please ensure everyone you wish to seat at your table is included in your booking to avoid being seated separately.Tickets will need to be pre-purchased- no door sales will be available on the night.Drinks included in ticket price are valid for any drink available from the bar.
