The international platform for the support- exhibition and production of audiovisual dance Fiver promotes choreographic-audiovisual creation by promoting the professionalization of the film dance genre with the organization- since 2012- of an internationally renowned annual festival: FIVER.After the success of FIVER 2019- which celebrated its seventh edition with actions in Logrono and Madrid- its two main venues- this 2020 and for the second consecutive year- the Fiver-Cervantes program is being carried out within the festival- with a Selection of works by Spanish and Latin American creators and curated by Samuel Retortillo- wants to offer a current vision of audiovisual dance through works that have been produced by Fiver or that have been finalists in its international competition.The works of prestigious Spanish film directors of three generations are a perfect selection to show how cinedance has become a language of specific movement- where the creator brings dance to life through the screen. There are five works that can be enjoyed at Fiver-Cervantes 2020: the winner of the special FIVER 2019 award- I Love the Maids for Unreal- by Sofia Castro (Argentina)- the finalist- Babelian Circles- by Ferrand Romeu- and the collaborative works Fiverlabs 2019- Body to Body 2.0- coordinated by Esteban Crucci and Jordi Cortes- Wine or Grape ?- coordinated by Álex Pachon- and Bailaora- by Rubin Stein.This program is expanded with «Confined Bodies»- a series of videos that have been made during confinement- in order to analyze and give value to the creative proposals carried out during this period- by authors of the stature of Elias Aguirre- Richar Mascherin- Asun Noales- Alex Pachon- Jesus Rubio- Antonio Ruz- Guido Sarli and Pablo Venero.This comprehensive program will be presented within the framework of the Baila Espana festival in Bremen- which- in addition to its face-to-face celebration- will have a digital version this year- in which a wide variety of online activities will be offered- which will be accessible to all users of the Instituto Cervantes network of centers.

Saxophonist and composer- Gai Bryant has earnt a reputation as a Queen of Latin Jazz. She is fascinated with all the rhythms that make us move- particularly those blending Cuban- Peruvian and Afro-Caribbean influences. Gai joins musicians- dancers and communities across Sydney- through her projects with passionate arrangements that integrate traditional dance and song with a modern jazz aesthetic. Irresistible performances by her Afro-Peruvian sextet ALLY will open celebrations- before her big band- Caribe- will tear down the house in a visual and aural display. Pantsula is a distinctive dance style that emerged during Apartheid in South Africa. This energetic and spontaneous dance expressions of black townships continue to amaze and inspire young people across the world. Zimbabwe-born dance artist Thubalethu Ndibali is an experienced Pantsula teacher who introduced this dance form to Shaun Parker & Company.In these one-hour weekly workshops- participants will gain important knowledge about the cultural context of Pantsula.Rooted in a spirit of empowerment and freedom- learning this Pantsula will help to build the participant's self-confidence. Through the learning of energetic- technical footwork- participants will benefit from a great physical and mental workout. In the intermediate level group- participants will develop their ability to retain choreography. The open class will open an opportunity for all dance lovers to gain a cultural understanding of Pantsula dance while learning the movements and techniques. Feel like an island princess for a day!In this course you will learn an 'aparima himene style choreography- 'aparima means mimic of the hands and himene means song or lyric. Let the rhythm of the ukulele transport you the magical island of Tahiti while you learn about their culture and way of life.To finalise the course- we will have a day at the beach where you will be able to learn how to make a flower crown and perform the choreography for a dance video.Covid-18 safe guidelines:In order to keep physical distancing and hygiene principles to protect the community from the spread of Covid-19- spots are limited for the workshop and registration is mandatory.Please bring you own towel and water bottle.You will be asked to wash your hands or use hand sanitiser at the entrance.
