Using a variety of grasses- vines and inflorescence for weaving- we will construct a traditional basket or perhaps something more sculptural- limited only by your imagination. You will have the opportunity to make two small baskets- one using a twining technique- and and the other a random weave style. Or perhaps you would like to focus on a larger piece of one style only. The choice is yours. We chat about different grasses- how to prepare for weaving and good places for foraging. Different techniques are discussed and also which style is suitable for specific fibres and grasses.Covid-safe guidelinesThe safety of our visitors- artists- teachers- staff and volunteers is vital. We are observing strict physical distancing and hygiene measures to protect the health of visitors and staff and minimise the spread of Covid-19.These include enhanced cleaning regimes- social distancing and limits on the number of people in the gallery- sanitiser and hand washing facilities and changes to our class sizes.Don't visit if you're unwell or- if in the last 14 days- you have experienced cold or flu symptoms- have returned from overseas or have been to or had contact with someone from a Covid hotspot.
