As one of the 12 traditional animal signs in Chinese zodiac, cattle has been deeply integrated into people's daily life over thousands of years, playing an important role in the agricultural productivity of the Chinese nation.
With the year 2021, or the year of ox (cattle) of China, 2020 Shaanxi's Intangible Cultural Heritages Exhibition, will be launched at the China Cultural Center in Sydney from November 20, 2020 to January 8, 2021.
Composed of 5 sections on 'Wonderful Craftsmanship', 'Melody of Qin, Sounds of Nature', 'Ingenuity of Qin People', 'Skills of Central Plain of Shaanxi' and 'Charm Experience', the exhibition showcases more than 100 unique items of intangible cultural heritage works, videos or images. The exhibition features a theme of the Ox, the traditional Chinese zodiac and items include Fengxiang clay sculpture, Ansai paper-cut, Yaozhou Kiln ceramic technology, Shimen rubbing, Xiqin embroidery, Chengcheng hand-painted door curtain, Qinqiang opera, shadow play, Huayin ancient tune, and more, displaying the masterpieces of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Shaanxi.
The rich heritage of folk arts and the supporting exhibition of dynamic local culture and tourism photography from Shaanxi, the ancient land of Qin, will bring you on a visual journey. In the exhibition, you will closely feel the wisdom of the sages who witnessed the development of these intagible cultural heritage, the passionate Qin opera, the shadow puppets show, the colorful clay sculpture, the simple and true folk songs, the vivid embroidery and the ancient New Year paintings.
