An exhibition of drawing, painting, sculpture and collage presented by the Sydney Area Arts Therapy Group (SaAT).

This exhibition features the artistic explorations by Creative Arts Therapists, reflecting on their lived experience and professional journey. Their artworks express their dual identity as both art therapists and artists, whilst navigating the climate of uncertainty, with their clients, during COVID-19. The members involved in this exhibition hope to provide the audience with a felt sense of the therapeutic process from the art therapist's perspective, through similar processes and means of self-expression in which their clients engage. Arts therapy invites people to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences through art making when words are not enough. It has been a goal of this group to advocate for the accessibility of creative arts therapy as a mental health support.

The Sydney Area Arts Therapy Group (SaAT) is a Sydney based group of registered Creative Arts therapists, with the Australian New Zealand Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA), who meet monthly focusing on professional development for Arts Therapists practising across Sydney and the Blue Mountains region.
