After many years working in public art it is the personal and individual act of painting that has led Annie Kennedy to address her own accumulated recall of visiting galleries where her imagination has been stimulated and nourished by the work of other artists.
These are public spaces filled with private thoughts. There is contact with art and the particular environment that an exhibition creates, as a whole.
Often big physical spaces, public galleries offer potentially big experiences for those who step inside the encounter. Annie's paintings play with this scale, from impressive and big to small and intimate, from what happened then to what is happening in the here and now.
