Christmas, holiday time and celebration gatherings can be difficult for deaf and hard of hearing people due to the many new and different conversations.
Being able to have a conversation about Christmas, school holidays, your birthday, with those close to you and extended family, helps break down communication barriers.
This one-off 90 minute online workshop is designed for the whole family. It is also suited for anyone interested in learning Auslan
In this workshop you will cover the following Auslan signs:
Celebratory:
Christmas, Santa, tree decorations
Happy new year and the names of other cultural celebrations
Birthday
Presents - computer, toys, dolls
During the registration process, you will be asked what presents you expect to give or receive at Christmas or for your next birthday
Holidays:
Activities, beach, bike riding, camping, bathers, travelling, car, plane, suncreen, hat
Numbers and holiday questions - what year will you be in at school next year? will it be grade 5, 7 etc
You'll get plenty of practice and learn from fun activities
Cost
$96 (GST free) per household - through your NDIS Plan.
$105.60 (GST incl) per household - without a NDIS plan
