Marking Australia Day 2021 will be different due to Covid-19, yet more than ever before it is about inspiring and unifying us. The essence of the day is about community spirit, and there will be no shortage of inspiring Australian stories to share or national pride to celebrate.
Australia Day means different things to different people. We encourage every Australian to acknowledge Australia Day in a way that's meaningful to them.
The 2021 Australia Day in Sydney program is currently being finalised. Adjustments have been made which will see a reduced program to ensure safety in line with the latest health advice.
While there will be significant changes to the harbour and foreshore event program, there are still ways to mark this Australia Day by getting out in your local community in a Covid safe way, supporting local businesses or watching the broadcast of some events on ABC TV. More information coming soon.
