This showcased event has concluded.
The Willoughby Arts Centre is very happy to welcome back Ross Laurie and Idris Murphy, two of Australia's leading landscape painters.
This is an amazing opportunity to learn from their lifelong practice, Murphy's deep understanding of colour and Laurie's dynamic mark-making. This very popular masterclass involves technical discussions at the start of each day and then focused work and individual attention from both artists on your work past and present.
This 3-day workshop emphasises developing your own voice as an artist. Ross and Idris will not be showing you how to paint as they do, rather nurture your unique practice. They focus on feedback that will sit with you and allow you to assimilate ideas into your long term artistic development, encouraging you to reflect beyond the workshop.
This course is not suitable for beginners - students must be comfortable working under their own steam. Students should bring their own art materials - as this workshop focuses on your own work, acrylic and oil paints are welcome.
