SAMAG will host a panel of speakers exploring the changing landscape of gender and intersectionality and how this is playing out in our cultural institutions.

Timed to align with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, this event will discuss emerging trends such as use of pronouns, challenges that people with non-binary gender face when navigating our arts sector, and how this intersects with the ongoing conversation about how culture, subculture and identity interrelate and evolve.

Speakers include:

Jeff Khan - Moderator Artistic Director Performance Space/Liveworks

Dino Dimitriadis - Director and Creative Producer

Jain Moralee - Co-Executive Director of Twenty10. Underbelly Arts (2013 - 2016), General Manager of Queer Screen (2009-2013) and continues to work as a screen Producer.

Tea Uglow - Creative Director at  Google Arts & Culture

Presented by SAMAG in association with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2021

This event is a hybrid event, that will have limited capacity in the venue of 30 people, following COVID safe protocols. This event will also be available in a live webinar format (6 pm -7.15 pm), to stream with the ability to direct questions to the panel.
