Enter Darlo Sessions. Forget those pub crawls and sticky floors, this is a lush new way to experience the best of Australia's live music scene.
For 3 weekends over Feb-March we're centring FBi's rising stars and triple j darlings on our stage, with shows tailor-made for the Darlo. After a shit-house year, these artists spent their time in lockdown creating electric new work. It's time for them to take up space. This is a program of intimate hour-long gigs decked out with 5 star production values.
Our iconic Eternity Playhouse stage will transform into a music-lovers utopia when you're nestled with a beverage, no elbow shoving or spills in sight. Sit back, kick it back, and enjoy them soulful melodies and catchy tracks. You can't get this shit on Netflix.
Brendan Maclean + Jack Colwell
Back in the mid 00s, two young singer-songwriters met at a photoshoot for the 'next wave' of queer music. Pitched as rivals, the two worked together briefly and then - after a heated disagreement - went their separate ways, thought never to be seen in the same room ever again.
Now, after conquering the stages of Australia and placing their differences aside, Brendan Maclean and Jack Colwell will reunite onstage for the first time in 10 years: performing songs from each other's critically acclaimed debut albums (And The Boyfriends... // SWANDREAM) in an intimate setting and showcasing material from their early EPs, along with brand-new songs.
Aided by musical director Oliver John Cameron (The Colour Orange), Brendan and Jack will use an array of instruments to perform their work together, and apart. They will also detail the confessional stories behind their songs, allowing the audience a glimpse into their personal lives.
