Held on the first Wednesday each month, except January, and presented in a format similar to but more intimate than the monthly blues jams.
The workshops are not intended to show you how to play your instrument, but they may give you a better understanding about how blues music is structured and how you can communicate this to the other members of your band.
The workshop jams aim to create a comfortable, non-threatening environment where less confident musicians and singers can perform in a band situation. Advice and mentoring will be provided by our house band featuring a selection of our finest players.
Participants need only bring their instruments. A PA system and back line including a drum kit, keyboard, two guitar amps and a bass rig are provided. We try to make sure that all participants get a chance to have a play on material they feel comfortable with.
Please send an email to contact@canberrabluessociety.com.au to request the charts.
If you know of any budding blues players who may be interested, please send them an invitation.
