THE FIFTH ELEMENT
Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, and Academy Award winner Gary Oldman star in Luc Besson's visually arresting and thrillingly entertaining sci-fi epic that takes us to a world vastly different from that which we know today for the ultimate battle of good versus evil.
BEN-HUR
Winner of 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and featuring one of the most legendary action sequences in film history, this cherished classic from the golden age of Hollywood stars Charlton Heston as the titular Jewish prince whose quest for vengeance fuels his every move.
BLUE VELVET
From auteur filmmaker David Lynch comes a terrifying and darkly funny mystery cemented by intense performances from Kyle MacLachlan, Dennis Hopper, and Academy Award winner Laura Dern. An unforgettable vision of innocence lost, don't miss one of the most influential American films of the past few decades.
DIRTY HARRY
Set on the mean streets of San Francisco in the early 1970s, this suspenseful film stars Clint Eastwood as the infamous Inspector Harry Callahan, who earned the moniker Dirty Harry for his reputation of handling the dirtiest homicidal crimes. When a vicious serial killer emerges, it's clear the only man who can stop his reign of terror is the cop with a very dirty attitude.
EASY RIDER
The definitive counterculture blockbuster, this down-and-dirty directorial debut of former clean-cut teen star Dennis Hopper heralded the arrival of a new voice in film, one pitched angrily against the mainstream. With its radical, New Wave style editing, outsider-rock soundtrack, revelatory performance by a young Jack Nicholson, and an explosive ending, the American road trip would never be the same.
ROBOCOP
Unsurpassably thrilling, unexpectedly moving, and unforgettably hilarious in equal measure, Paul Verhoeven's future of law enforcement features exciting and kinetic visuals, a sharp script, an iconic cast, and exceptional special effects in this classic story of a heroic cop who is resurrected a cybernetic mix of spare human parts and steel to become the latest defence against crime.
LA HAINE
Winner of Best Director at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival and three César Awards including Best Film, Mathieu Kassovitz's French crime drama remains a seminal piece of 90s cinema. A blisteringly effective pieces of urban cinema, this hard-hitting and uncompromising look at the long-festering social and economic divisions in Paris remains as pertinent as ever.
