This workshop is part of the City of Sydney's Connect Sydney program, funded by the Department of Communities and Justice. The program aims to build the capacity of community and not-for-profit organisations through the provision of free skills and governance training.
This training is primarily for organisations that support and provide services to children, young people, families and communities experiencing or at risk of vulnerability within the City of Sydney local government area.
If you're responsible for grant writing in your organisation and want to improve your knowledge and skills in writing successful grant submissions, this is the training for you.
The workshop is designed for people with limited or no experience with grant writing. It is a face-to-face full day workshop with breaks.
The session focuses on:
1. The best way to present your proposal - tell the story of your project and your group to get the greatest advantage
2. How to develop your statement of need - choosing data to support your project proposal
3. How to develop an 'organisational template' - to save time in writing applications and create a corporate memory that can be passed on
4. How to humanise your story - presenting a compelling picture
5. How to do budgets
6. How to align your programs with the funding body's strategic priority and support it with evidence, data and outcomes.
The training will be delivered by Natalie Bramble, from iClick2Learn. Natalie has 20-years' experience as a grant writer, assessor, consultant, mentor and trainer.
We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible training sessions. If you have any particular access or communication needs please contact Vicky Skarlatos, social programs officer on 02 9265 9333 or vskarlatos@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
