Our Watch's 'Change the story' is the national framework for the prevention of violence against women and children.
Join Our Watch accredited trainers, Sharmila Falzon (Community Capacity Building Officer - City of Parramatta) and Maggie Kyle (Prevention of Violence Against Women Consultant) to learn actions to take within your workplaces, homes and communities to help end violence against women and children
You'll learn how often women experience domestic and family violence; how inequality is linked to violence; about the primary prevention framework; and actions you can take to create change in your life, workplace and community.
Connect Sydney is a City of Sydney program, funded by the Department of Communities and Justice. The program aims to build the capacity of community and not-for-profit organisations through the provision of free skills and governance training.
Connect Sydney is primarily for organisations that support and provide services to children, young people, families, and communities experiencing or at risk of vulnerability within the City of Sydney local government area.
Free and online on Thursday 10 March and Thursday 17 March, 10am to 1pm.
Participants are expected to attend both sessions. Registration is essential
Places are limited to 2 people per organisation, and priority is given to community organisations that operate within the City of Sydney's local area.
The City of Sydney aims to deliver inclusive and accessible training sessions for all participants. If you have any access or communication needs, please contact Vicky Skarlatos, Social Programs Officer, at 02 9265 9333 or vskarlatos@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au to discuss further.
This training is focused on preventing future violence. If you or someone you know needs support, help is available:

NSW Domestic Violence Line, 1800 65 64 63 - for referral or information about NSW domestic violence (including accommodation and legal) support services.
