'Kick start the Art' with this super fun course of classes for creative kids. We will explore lots of different techniques to make art using pond life as our inspiration.
We will craft sculptural koinobori fish, dabble with water colour techniques and collage as well construct a beautiful waterlily for a final mixed media work of art.
To deepen the learning we will look at art history and artists work, plan projects and discuss what we are making. All vital skills for the budding artist.
Lesson 1
Using Japanese woodcuts as inspiration as well as traditional crafts we will make a koinobori fish to hang in a window.
Lesson 2
We will learn watercolour techniques such as 'wet on wet' washes to create a colourful pond as a backing to collage dragonflies that buzz busily on the pond's surface.
Lesson 3
We will construct a water lily to incorporate into a pond to finish off a multi-media image
