The CYL Chinese Cultural Dance Group has been established for many years. During these years, the dance group has performed at the Sydney Opera House, Parliament House, the Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony, and many other events.
In 2011, the Senior Dance Group won first place at the McDonald's Sydney Eisteddfod dancing competition.
The dance teacher Susanna graduated from China Guangxi Arts College (Major in Dancing) has many years of experience as a professional dancer and choreographer for China Guangzhou Military Region Song and Dance Troupe. She teaches cultural dance at several centres in Sydney. Some of her students have participated in performances for both Chinese and Australians cultural events which have been well received by audiences, students and parents. Their beautiful costumes and graceful movements were highly praised by City of Sydney during the Chinese New Year celebration performance.
People at different ages are welcome to join us and enjoy the Chinese folk dance up close!
