Created by award-winning playwright Mary Anne Butler, CUSP is an emotional ride that will have you bursting with laughter one moment and reaching for the tissues the next. This performance shares the story of three young people on the cusp of adulthood, each facing major choices that will shape their lives.
Set in Australia's Top End, CUSP pays particular focus to our youth and First Nations communities, who hold the future so delicately and respectfully in their more-than-capable hands.
Rosie is played by Lakesha Grant, a Larrakia woman who made her debut with ATYP this year starring in The Resistance, Elvis is played by Joshua McElroy (Frayed ABC) and Maddie played by Abbey Morgan (Bad Behaviour STAN Original).
According to Playwright Mary Anne Butler, CUSP is a reminder of the inherent privilege of being able to make your own choices. 'CUSP is a love letter to the people and landscape of Australia's Top End, in particular our youth, who hold the future so delicately and respectfully in their more-than-capable hands,' she says.
