Get the skills and confidence to ride on Sydney streets.
If you're a little nervous about riding a bike in Sydney this course is for you.
In one morning our professional instructor will help you gain the confidence and skills to cycle on Sydney's streets. We start with essential principles in a short class, practice off-street at Green Square Plaza, then you'll go with your instructor and a small group on-street to put what you've learnt into action.
The course includes simple positioning techniques, control skills, route planning, and the art of gracious cycling - to help make cycling from A to B safer and more enjoyable.
Dates and booking links
Where and when to meet:
The Social Corner cafe, 30 Ebsworth Street, Zetland. At 9am.
What to bring:
A bike in good working order*
A helmet
Water
Sun screen
Warm clothes
* Instructors will assess your bike's road-worthiness and you may not be able to do the course if they feel your bike is unsafe.
Topics covered:
Classroom: rights and responsibilities, route planning, traffic and positioning theory.
Off-street: control skills and practice.
Group riding: cycling in regular traffic between drill sites establishes sensible (effective and considerate) positioning as well as showcasing the benefits of good route selection.
