The Sydney Connection conducts weekly inner city dining walks of Surry Hills, Darlinghurst and Potts Point.
Accompanied by our Owner/Operator Maree Sheehan a well-connected local guide, our walks are aimed at visitors and Sydneysiders who want to go 'where the locals go' for inspiring food, good service and cool interiors.
We offer our guests the chance to experience Sydney's fabulous small bar culture and dine at three different inner-city Sydney restaurants in one evening. If you're a local looking for a new perspective on our fine city this is the perfect experience.
For visitors it's a great opportunity if you are only spending a short time in Sydney and want to gain an understanding of our food culture and night time vibe. You can ask your guide all your Sydney questions: our history, the demographics of the precinct, the latest real estate prices or just where to go for breakfast.
Darlinghurst highlights
The curved sandstone building that houses our first bar in Darlinghurst had a former life as a bank. Now it's a flash art deco-style space with guilt and mirrors reflecting the marble, velvet and brass interiors. Situated on the pulsing Oxford Street, you can feel the grit that holds together this nightlife precinct and builds on its rich history of gay-culture and the darker side of nightlife. Get your photo taken in front of the colourful street art or on the famed rainbow crossing.
Modern Australian cuisine is well-represented with a dash of French or Italian thrown in for good measure. A subterranean restaurant in a sandstone cellar off a hidden laneway or a striped-back brick Italian dining room with pumping hip-hop and the best ragu in town.
Darlo has it all.
