City of Sydney Library Lunchtime Conversations is a series of free talks with authors, artists and experts.
Are you interested in exploring the history of Sydney?
The online archives catalogue provides access to over 1 million items about the City of Sydney and the local area. Access documents, photographs, maps and plans from as early as 1842.
City Archivist Janet Villata will introduce you to the City Archives and explains how to search and browse the online catalogue. Janet will also highlight some of the fascinating items you can discover in the archives of the oldest municipal council in NSW.

Janet Villata is the City Archivist at the City of Sydney. She leads a team of 5 and a volunteer workforce of 30. She was part of the project team that developed the new catalogue, introduced in 2020, which has helped to transform access to the City Archives.
