Dr Lachlan McIver is a doctor who has worked in some of the inhospitable conditions across the planet, including in rural Australia. His new no-holds-barred book Life and Death Decisions is at once a riveting expose of a broken health system that needs urgently to be fixed, and a deeply personal memoir.
On Tuesday 13 September, join him in conversation with chief councillor of the Australian Climate Council and 2017 Australian of the Year, Tim Flannery.
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Seating is unallocated - another reason to arrive early to secure an optimal spot. Why not make a full evening of it, too, by booking a meal at the Royal Oak before or after the event? One of Balmain's oldest and best-known pubs, it serves a delicious range of food and beverages.
Life and Death Decisions will be available for purchase at the venue through Roaring Stories, with book signings from McIver following the discussion.
