Following a wildly successful premiere, City of Melbourne and Heavy Machinery Records proudly present the encore performance of Ehsan Gelsi's 'Ephemera' - a majestic new original work for the Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ, specially commissioned to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Melbourne Town Hall.
Gelsi's grand organ composition Ephemera is a groundbreaking hybrid progressive work showcasing the mammoth grandeur of the ten thousand pipe acoustic organ in full flight while exploring the extent of the instrument's electronic sequencing capabilities alongside Moog, Buchla and analogue electronic sounds. The result is a spectacular mix of grand organ fetishism, progressive soundtrack exploration and ecstatic analogue electronica.
Gelsi will be accompanied by Ben Crook (Oolluu) on live drums and a spectacular live laser show. Support on the night comes from Melbourne electronic genius Chiara Kickdrum.
