Elizabeth Elliott and Katrina Collins are art teachers and practising artists. This exhibition is a celebration of friendship and camaraderie, built over coffee and dog walking at Cafe Bones on the Haberfield Canal.
Memories of a rural childhood on the North West Slopes & Plains of New South Wales are just some of the sources that Elizabeth Elliott draws on and that her unique vision transforms into highly crafted prints. Elizabeth has incorporated fine art digital printing with more traditional techniques including overlays of collage, painting & drawing.
The past & present collide in her shed studio, echoes of the kid she was as a champion fly catcher & the rich imagery of reoccurring dreams of hair & horns in unlikely places.
Informed by a lifetime observation of colour relationships in her environment, Katrina Collins paints abstractions that are celebratory. Katrina's work creates vivid systems of colour, space, pattern and form that reiterate her dedication to the most essential aspects of abstraction and its ability to evoke mood and atmosphere.
Liz and Katrina both live and work in the Inner West.
