Artist's statement:
'After spending six months chasing big skies on dirt roads painting plein air in 2023, this most recent body of work saw me return to my studio in the Blue Mountains. It was about taking time to reminisce about past adventures, whilst exploring my memories, face to face with the canvas. Slowing down and living in the moment allowed me to see and appreciate the landscape with fresh eyes.
By giving myself a long lead time to paint all the work for this show and making a conscious effort to stay in a constant state of flow, I felt a renewed lust for life. That energy is in these paintings.
These paintings are love stories. They're about falling in love with the experience of life and making time to get lost in its magic.' - Johnny K
