Djeran Slow TV: Celebrating the Season of Adulthood in Perth's Urban Heart

Djeran (April - May) The Noongar Season 'Djeran' is represented by the colour green as it is the time of the year when the cooler weather begins. Djeran season sees a break in the really hot weather. A key indicator of the change of season is the cool nights that bring a dewy presence in the early mornings. The winds will also change, especially in intensity, with light breezes generally swinging from southerly directions.
Many flying ants can be seen cruising around in the light winds. Djeran is a time of red flowers, especially those of the red flowering gum (Corymbiaficifolia) and the smaller and more petite flowers of the summer flame(Beaufortia aestiva).
The City Urban Screens presents two slow TV documentaries celebrating the season Colours of Djeren and Djeran Sunset.
Djeren Sunset
This program is a sunset over the Derbal Nara1 (Cockburn Sound) in Beaconsfield. The vivid beauty and life of Perth's natural wonders are paired with small pieces of information found on the KURONGKURL KATITJIN page of the ECU website.
Colours of Djeren
This program is a collection of slow nature footage taken down by the Dgilgie1 (Manning Lake) in Hamilton Hill featuring flowering red-capped gum trees (Eucalyptus erythrocorys) and Tuart trees (Eucalyptus gomphocephala)
