The Bell Tower is offering free entry on Sunday 19 April 2020 for the Heritage Perth weekend.
Located on the edge of the beautiful Swan River in Barrack Square, the award-winning Bell Tower is arguable one of the largest musical instruments in the world and home to 18th century bells from London's famous church, St Martin-in-the-Fields. They are the only set of bells donated by the Royal Family known to have left England.
These ancient bells were rung to signal the end of the battle of Trafalgar, again at Lord Nelson's funeral and to welcome Captain Cook back after charting Australia. These bells are rung Monday, Thursday and Sunday's 12pm - 1pm.
In addition to the Royal bells, the Bell Tower has recently installed a new 6.5tonne ANZAC Bell that can be heard when it rings for 1 minute, everyday at midday.
Enjoy the views from the level 6 Observation Deck while listening to the coin-operated Carillon. Choose from over 70 different songs.
The Bell is fully accessible to all levels via lift or stairs. The closest ACROD Bay is located on Riverside Drive or Terrace Road car park. Tour guides working on the day are available to answer any questions and take photos.
For those who have not yet visited of have not been for a while, a visit to the Bell Tower, home of the Swan Bells, will give you a truly new perspective of our city. Don't miss this opportunity to visit an award-winning icon of Perth.
