Koffi is a superb bass player and vocalist, a great performer and entertainer who breathes life into any audience.
Born in Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa, Gervais Koffi has travelled the world performing and recording with world-class musicians and producers. After a very successful musical career in Johannesburg, he decided to explore the music scene in Australia in 1998. Ever since he has been entertaining his audience in all major venues and festivals in the country.
According to the Basement, they are 'easily the best Afro-roots show in town, and they play a pretty awesome Latin set too!' They've also packed in the crowds at major festivals across the country including the Global Carnival in Bellingen and the World Music Festival in Thredbo, in Canberra, Melbourne…. They've also been a regular feature during Australia Day celebrations in Sydney (Darling Harbour and Hyde Park).
Koffi is a superb bass player and vocalist, a great performer, and a magnificent entertainer who breathes life into any audience. He has proven to be the ideal person to introduce Afrobeat, Soukous, and Zouk (French Afro Caribbean) music to the Australian audiences.
