About our speakers
Sandy Hollis has been involved with Studies of Religion as a Senior HSC marker, Exam Writer and Lecturer for more years than she can count. She is currently an educator at the Sydney Jewish Museum, where she educates many HSC and preliminary students on SOR curriculum, helping them to make sense of each topic through memorable and meaningful lessons.
Helen Smith is an experienced teacher, provider of professional development for teachers and workshop experiences for students of Studies of Religion across NSW. She has been engaged in every facet of the course including development of the current syllabus and HSC marking. She is passionate about students engaging with the full intention of the syllabus, especially developing the critical thinking, research and communication skills that are essential for achieving a personal best result in the HSC. Beyond this, it is Helen's great hope that students who complete Studies of Religion will leave school committed to fulfilling its aims by contributing to an inclusive, respectful and harmonious Australian society.
